A Look Inside the world of credit
There are only 3 Bureaus, but did you know there are over 28 credit scores and each one uses its own algorithm to generate a score?
Each bureau has its own name for its credit scoring model—even though they use the same FICO algorithm. Experian calls it “FICO or FICO II,” Equifax uses “Beacon,” and TransUnion’s model is named “Empiric.”
Additionally, there are specialized credit scores that lenders use for specific types of loans. For example, if you’re applying for a car loan, a lender will look at your Auto Enhanced score. This type of score gives more weight to how you’ve paid previous auto loans. In other words, if you paid your mortgage and credit cards payments in full and on-time yet your car loan payment was always late, that would be reflected in your Auto Enhanced score. This formula is carried through all types of loans. In conclusion, its important to know how to work your credit in order to generate the best score possible for which ever type of loan you are applying for. Good Credit Lenders wants to be there by your side to walk you through this difficult maze of the credit game.
